Adjust Screen setup

Select the cog from the Start menu

Next enter the “System” options. (Should be the only selection you have)

Down the left of this screen select the “Display” tab.

At the top of this page, you are presented with the screens you have available.

Here you can click the identify button which for a brief time will display the relevant number on each of your screens.

Now that you know which screen is which you can drag and drop the screens around here to arrange them how you need them to match in the physical room.

Moving down the options screen you can see Scale and layout. This gives you options to enlarge the text on which screen you have selected.

The next set of options does not depend on the screen's physical size, the screen shown in the screenshots is 22” and is capable of a 1920*1080 this is pixel size. In the school, we have a few different screens and another common size of 1650*1080, and older projectors are still showing as 1280*1024 and are set to square rather than a widescreen setting. (As we upgrade the school’s cable this will become less common).

The next option down the screen is the Orientation, this will allow you to move the digital screen to a different orientation, if for example, you have a screen that can rotate you can view an Excel spreadsheet in portrait mode allowing for a better view of more information.

Moving down the screen these are the options that most have trouble with from here you change how screens can be used, the "Extend" setting allows a user to extend their desktop from one screen to another to allow for more workspace. The Duplicate setting allows two screens to display the same desktop, for example, a second screen and a projector are normally set to this so that a user can see on their second screen what is being displayed behind them on the projector screen.

If you know the screen number, then you can set which screen it to be the projector duplicate.

If you are in a room with only one screen and a projector, you have two options. You can either extend your desktop to the projector, which allows you to move your mouse across both screens, or you can duplicate your screen onto the projector. However, keep in mind that if you are viewing your emails, anyone watching the projector will also be able to see them.

Lastly, you can press the “Window key + p” This will open a window at the side of your screen from which you can select Duplicate or Extend (But this is more for rooms that only have two screens) you can also choose to only display one screen here.

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks,

IT
